ABOUT HOOP WEEK

It all started with a passion for hoops and doing simple trick shots.  We’re not pros, but we play, watch and talk hoops every chance we get.  Ever hiked a basketball or thrown a football into the basket?  What about balling up trash bags and old newspapers and doing a behind-the-back toss into the wastebasket?  How about kicking a soccer ball or serving a volleyball into a cardboard box?  Yup, that’s who we are and we have a lot of fun!  But then we thought, “How could we use our passion for hoops to help others?”

 Hoop Week was born.

Through Hoop Week, we created #TheHoopChallenge as a way to help others in need.  Everyone has a trick (or two) up their sleeve.  What’s yours?

Our motto reflects our passion for sports and causes we care about:

“ONE SHOT CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE”
Join us, and let’s put the FUN back into FUNdraising!

ABOUT THE HOOP CHALLENGE

We wanted to create a fundraising platform for hoop fans and athletes to make a positive impact on themselves and others. Thus, Hoop Week was born. The Hoop Challenge is the first program under the Hoop Week brand, which combines creative basketball shots with FUNdraising for causes that inspire us. Our motto reflects our passion for basketball, and for helping others:
“ONE SHOT CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE”
The Hoop Challenge was created by Rio Simon, Founder of Hoop Week. The Hoop Challenge involves simple basketball-related trick shots to help raise funds for causes. Participants donate, and then either start or accept the challenge. The Hoop Challenge can be most successful by taking the following steps: Log onto www.hoopweek.com and click on the Donate button to donate. Film yourself starting (or accepting) the challenge and nominate three of your closest friends to log onto www.hoopweek.com to donate, film and share their creative trick shot. Film yourself attempting and making your most creative trick shot. “Missed” attempts can be recorded, but “Made” attempts MUST be recorded. Share your video on social media, while tagging your friends to keep the challenge going. Be the first person in your family, community, school, workplace or team to start The Hoop Challenge. And let’s help promote exercise, while providing help to those in need through the sport we all love!
For our inaugural year, The Hoop Challenge will take place in the spring of 2019.
